Outydse Soetkoekie/Old-fashioned Sweet Cookie is a deeply traditional, spiced South African biscuit. It is one of the oldest recorded recipes in South African baking heritage, dating back to the early Dutch colonial period.
Delightfully crisp, hard, and snappy. They are intentionally baked to be sturdy, making them legendary “dunking” biscuits. The moment they are dipped into a hot cup of rooibos tea or coffee, they instantly absorb the liquid and soften into a rich, melt-in-the-mouth consistency.
